All of his works are unique and fascinating. He observes everyday plants, animals, and people he imagines from a unique perspective, and expresses them in a way that makes sense to him. The process of taking the time to face the drawing in question and immerse himself in them always seems straightforward and honest. He has many different painting techniques available, including ink, pencil, watercolor and mineral pigments. Furthermore, he excels at a more diverse range of expressions using fabric and foil, creating works following his sensibility. One of Fujii Kannsuke's representative works is the series based on the motif of "Mashira (Monkeys)", which he painted over 30 years while continuing to visit Mt. Iwata in Kyoto. He does not belong to any particular art group or school in Japan, and has an absolute conviction to paint what he wants to paint, without being influenced by the social environment around him. He is currently based in Kyoto.
